Now There's a Novel Idea...

Maybe our country wouldn't be in such a financial crisis if we didn't rely on credit... as in only bought what we could afford.

Or here's a thought... saved for those things we couldn't.

Being in debt to China for 500 billion dollars competely baffles me.

What did we buy? Really, I want to know.

Dave Ramsey for President 2008.

I think I'm a little bitter today.

  1. I agree. However, if you had been listening to me all these years EMILY you would know that your beloved Republicans are notorious for not having a balanced budget. For example, the last time our budget was balanced was when Billy Clinton was in office. Congress wasn't allowed to fund anything that there wasn't money for, therefore not adding to a deficit.

Also, just an FYI, our current Congress (A DEMOCRATIC ONE) passed the Pay-as-you-go rule that used to be in effect when Clinton was in office again on January 5, 2007, 2 days after taking back the majority of the House. The only spending that has been approved in excess of what we can afford is the billion dollars we spend in Iraq each month and the Economic Stimulus Plan that Georgie Porgie wanted. The thought behind spending that money was that it would stimulate the economy so the government would get that money back in revenue. Too bad everyone spent theirs on gas instead of frivolous purchases.

The problem we are facing is that there is no regulation in a free market like we currently have and it is obvious people/businesses/wall street/CEO's can't be trusted to regulate themselves when it comes to money.

Sorry to open a can of worms but you know I can resist a good "political" convo:)

  4. Hey- Sorry you got a lecture b/c of us. Mrs. Linda is CRAZY excited though. It's really fun that she's so happy! She just cried and cried when we told her (on Mother's Day). She just kept thanking me! She's precious!! Your mom just needs to be patient -her turn will come.
No, we won't be in Dothan for Christmas. Caleb is due December 22nd. I'm just hoping not to be in the hospital!!
